Cheer
Welcome to Moseley Youth Cheer
~ Cheerleading isn’t just a sport, it’s a lifestyle. ~
Our cheer program offers teams across various age groups, from flag to senior divisions, led by passionate volunteer coaches. Open to youth ages 5-14, Moseley Youth Cheer welcomes both boys and girls from the district and beyond to join our community.
Our cheer program emphasizes:
1. Safety: We prioritize safe techniques in tumbling and stunting, with coaches ensuring proper training throughout the season.
2. Teamwork: Cheer is built on collaboration, timing, and trust. The skills developed on the mat carry over to life beyond cheerleading.
3. Team Spirit & Leadership: Our cheerleaders are role models who energize crowds and foster inclusivity.
4. Fun: Cheerleading is about learning and having fun! We encourage team-building, creative routines, and spirited performances, both on and off the mat. Parents, bring your excitement to the games with signs and cheers!

Cheer Training and Skills
Preparing for the season? Here are some skills to focus on for those eager to challenge themselves:
• Flexibility: Practice your splits, heel stretches, and more.
• Jumps: Toe touch, pike, hurdler, and hurkie.
• Tumbling: From basic rolls to walkovers.
Skills assessments at the beginning of the season help our coaches tailor routines and ensure every cheerleader shines. While these skills aren’t required, working on them can boost confidence and performance.
